The most amazing camera that I have ever held in the palm of my hand is the Canon Powershot S90 IS. This camera is truly impressive even by incredibly high standards that many photographers set. Is this a perfect camera? The only answer I can give you to that is actually more of a question. Is any camera perfect?

There are two main things that are the most impressive on this model. The lens is the first. Allowing for better shots the 28-105mm equivalent lens gets nice wide angles so your group shots and landscapes turn out much nicer. The lens speed is also impressive. The bright f/2.0 aperture allows you to have the most versatility. You will also see a lot less flash when shooting indoors, thanks to the camera’s ability to grab more light.

The second most impressive aspect of the Canon Powershot S90 IS would have to be the control ring. Those who typically use a DSLR camera are certainly going to appreciate this part because it is much like the focus ring. With a simple press of a button you can choose which setting you would like to tweak. I use it primarily for the zoom, but it can also be used to set the ISO, white balance, exposure, shutter speed, focus, or aperture. The zoom is preset with the most common distances.

The Canon Powershot S90 IS should be at the top of your list when looking for a compact camera for your everyday use. You can always expect so much more from Canon.
